I think you do whatever you want to do but in most self defense type situations how much time do you really have? Are you gonna have time to grab your primary gun, have it fail, and then try to go to your BUG? Will you get to your BUG before you and your attacker start a struggle or they use there weapon first?

I enjoy these type of discussions because I always like to learn new things. I truly have never thought about carrying a BUG. I know that LEO do and other private contractors as well. I really never expect myself to be in a type of situation where I need one but I guess that could make me the naive and vulnerable one. I would like to very much go to a CQB class and train for those type of situations.

I don't carry that often but when I do my main choice is a Kimber Compact CDPII .45acp. I also have a Colt Pocketlite .380 that I've carried but not as a bug, mostly just in hot weather when I have nothing but a Tshirt and shorts on. I recently picked up another "pocket pistol" that I like more than the Mustang,a Kel-Tec PF9. Its the same size as the mustang, fits easily into my pockets and is a 9mm. It's no long range match gun but inside 10 yds I do quite well with it,better than I do with the .380 mustang. So I guess I can say that I've never carried anything as a bug because I don't carry that often to begin with. In the house though,it's a different story. I keep several handguns and shotguns hidden in different areas, all GTG if needed.
